Sustainable Fashion Design (Fashion Design)
Level 5
Certification
QQI Fashion Design Level 5, Code 5M3865
Overview
As environmental awareness grows, fashion companies are increasingly prioritising sustainable practices throughout their supply chains. Sustainability consultants are crucial in advising brands on eco-friendly materials, ethical production methods, and circular fashion initiatives, helping reduce the industry’s environmental footprint while meeting consumer demand for ethically sourced products.
In this way, the learner will be at the forefront of this new green industry sector. The skills taught will allow the students to use traditional craft skills to encourage a ‘make and mend’, slow fashion approach, together with an understanding of circular economy and be able to work across a wide range of organisations to facilitate the switch to more sustainable options in the fashion industry.
