Digital Photography (QQI level 5 Certified)
Course outline
Learners who successfully complete this module will:
- Explain the inter-relationship between the theory and practice of photography
- Outline the role of digital photography as a contemporary medium of communication
- Explain the functions of the principal components of a digital camera and or digital SLR camera
- Describe the functions and uses of camera lenses and camera accessories
- Explain key elements in a computer workstation layout
- Expose photographs correctly by controlling shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance
- Apply the correct digital editing tools and practices to produce high-quality final images
- Experiment with various elements of composition
- Illustrate individual creativity through the practice of photography Save and store images appropriately
- Construct a portfolio of work suitable for professional presentation
- Work independently in a disciplined professional manner
- Practice time management in completing work
- Make informed critical judgements of completed work
